My favorite memory is about the pony I had when I was 13 years old. His name was Dandy and he was a gorgeous little monster. He was half Shetland pony and half Appaloosa. He was also as ornery as the day was long. I loved that pony! My favorite memory of him was when we would go behind the barn and we would do some jumping over obstacles. It was a bit difficult because I didn?t have a saddle. I did a lot of sliding around and some falling too as we jumped, but it was fun!! LOL. That was definitely a great time in my life. He was the best friend I had at that time in my life. I was absolutely devastated when he was sold. I still have a picture of him and I enjoy going back in time to visit my pony.

Georgie-girl

A favorite memory of mine is of my dog, Georgie-girl and how caring she was. I had gotten into an accident and totaled my Beretta. Because I couldn?t take the stairs very well yet, I slept on my mattress in the living room for a few days. Now, Georgie-girl never slept with me, only with my Auntie and uncle, but the first night home after the accident, I awoke in the middle of the night to Georgie-girl laying right beside my mattress with her nose beside my head. When I moved my head, she began to lick my face. She?s gone now, but that?s the most favorite memory I have of her.

Baby was my first cat. I was 14 when my father agreed to get her. She was sweet. I used to cuddle her all the time but she never did mind. She loved to race me home after school. Funny thing is, she never did let me win. She would arrive home, sit by the door and wait for me to say hello and give her something to eat.

I cherish those times when she and I would play. I would run after her and she would duck behind the footstool. After I found and tackled her, it was her turn to chase me! She would always give me a head start but it never failed, she would beat me to the bed and nibble at my toes or my ears. It was her way to say: ?You?re It!?

There was a connection between that cat and I, just like we had nobody else in the world but us!

I was saddened when I had to go away and leave her behind. She got sick and died. I?ll always treasure her and how she was there for me. Thank you Baby for always listening to my sorrows without judgment.

My Favorite memory of a Pet

My favorite memory of a pets deals with all the pets that have been in my life. Dogs were the only pets we could have growing up. There were three special dogs that I honestly believed that could not be replaced. Dino was the dog the family had when I was born. I?ve heard stories that he was a true protector of my brothers and I. He would walk wherever we did and if we went to far he would turn us around or bring us back to where we needed to be. Sadly, he got loose and was hit by a car.

So Mom and Dad decided to get another dog that they would place in a fence. But Butch had a habit of either digging out or actually jumping the fence to get out. He would always do it when he knew my brothers and I would be coming home from school. He was very playful. It was sad one Christmas that it snowed. Butch had been a puppy the last time he saw it snow. He got excited and wanted to play in the snow. He could not wait to be untied. So he tried to jump the fence and hung himself.

Then there was Coco. My brother?s friend?s dog had puppies and my brother convinced my parents to let us get one. She was very playful and an awesome dog. She loved to play but for some reason she started to be aggressive. We didn?t really know why. We took her to the vet and she had been bitten by an animal with rabies. So we had to put her down.

So my boyfriend and I spotted on the news that they were having a dog fair at the animal shelter. We went and looked at every type of dog. We settled on Kokkie. She is a dalmation. She just turned five and is such a sweet, well-mannered dog. She?s so loving and loves car rides. Hopefully she will stick around with us, We?ve had her for a year now. And that?s my story about favorite pets.

I had a beautiful long haired gray and white cat named Fanny.. who was and still is.. my pride and joy. We got her when I was about 8 years old and she remained with us until I was 12 when we moved and she was sooo unhappy with the move that she was making herself ill and we had to let an elderly lady who lived in the woods have her. She used to sleep with me almost every night.. she was taken from her mother to early and would suckle on my blanket, kneading and purring till we both were asleep.

She was my dolly, I would hold her in my arms like a baby and sing lullabyes to her and she allowed it.. I would bundle her in a blankie and she would purr and purr till I was done playing. My heart broke when we had to let her go to another home because she was not happy when we left the mountains for being in town. She is long gone now of this world, but in my heart she is my pride and joy and yes, my first love.

King

My favorite childhood pet
Did not belong to me
He belonged to my grandparents
And his name was King

He was a German Shepherd
And a Collie mix
He loved children
And he loved catching sticks

He was such a gentle dog
And guarded me with care
No one better hurt me
As long as he was there

I used to ride his back
He really didn't mind
I don't think I'll ever find
Another dog so kind

My most fondest memory
Was his wagging tail
It used to wag so fast
It knocked me down as well

When King passed away
It was very hard on me
He had to be put to sleep
He had cancer you see

And of all the pets I've had
He's the best there's ever been
No other pet can compare
To the love I had for him
